The text before us represents a long journey that begins the moment the ink has settled on the paper. The Orient-Digital archive, which digitizes Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman manuscripts from the Berlin State Library, not only reveals the visual traces of this written heritage, but also the disciplines that make it readable.
